A small well-made range of white, rosé and red wines - along
with a fine sparkling Brut. So says David Moore, the Louis
Roederer and Glenfiddich wine writer of the year in his new book
A Guide to The Wines of England & Wales (cowritten by
Philip Williamson and Neville Blech, available from Amazon).
As readers of David's well-known series Behind the Label
know, these give in depth tasting notes on the top wines of most wine
regions. We'll show you what David thought of some of our top wines below.
We are proud that wines made here at Yearlstone have won over 50 awards
in the last 5 years' English & Welsh Wine of the Year Competitions -
including 9 awards at the 2009 Competition held in Dorset...
We show the awards our wines have won against each wine.
Our triple-award winning fizz, Vintage Brut 2008, is still available -
having been recomended on BBC 1 by Oz Clarke. We are now selling the
24-month lees-aged edition. We also have a tiny amount of pink fizz,
also Vintage Brut 2009, which has also won a medal at
every competition it's been entered for.
English wine is light and fresh with wonderful aromas -
making it perfect as an aperitif or to accompany light
seasonal English food - as served in
Charlotte's Kitchen.

Yearlstone Number 6 2010 - Barrel Aged Dry White - £9.50 per bottle

Every year our policy is to buy a new barrel of French oak. Careful
blending of 225 litres from this barrel produces a soft and rounded white
wine from our Madeleine Angevine and Pinot Blanc grapes.

add to to the softness and bring vanilla undertones.
Less obviously aromatic than the the other three whites.
